CoEd Middle School Track vs. West Ottawa

Rockets Lose: -
The Rocket guys closed out their track season last night in the conference invitational where they competed against the best of the best from 17 other West Michigan schools. Placing for the Rockets were: Parker Sweet taking 6th in the shot put, Jackson Larson placed 7th in the 100 meter dash and 5th in the 70 meter dash, the 400 meter relay team of Jezsiah Sims, Isaac Sanchez, Hayden Turnbow, and Jackson Larson took 4th place, Jake Pierce took 3rd in the shot put, and TJ Davis took 3rd in the 55 meter hurdles. TJ Davis also set the school record and took first place and conference champion in the high jump with a jump of 5’6”. Nice job guys.

The Rocket Girls track team closed out their season Monday night at the conference invitational meet where they competed against the best of the best from 18 other west Michigan schools. The Rocket girls represented RP well! Scoring points for the Rockets were the 400 meter relay team of Ava Pierce, Patience Sims, Makenna Anthony, and Sophia Hekkema placing 8th. Ella Klimza finished 8th in the high jump. Grace Goddell finished 7th in the 70 meter dash and 4th in the 100 meter dash. Madalyn Simpson finished 5th in the 100 meter dash. Allison McManus finished 2nd in the 55 meter hurdles and 3rd in the 200 meter hurdles. Sophia Hekkema set school records in both the 55 and 200 meter hurdles and placed first and conference champion in the 200 meter hurdles. Great job and great season ladies!

The Rocket guys and girls track teams closed out their regular season last night against a tough Grandville team. Both teams came up short but competed hard. First place finishers for the Rockets were: Jake Pierce in the shot put, Allison McManus in the long jump, Carsen Harwood in the both the 70 and 100 meter dashes, Grace Goodell in both the 70 and 100 meter dashes, TJ Davis in both the 55 meter hurdles and high jump, Sophia Hekkema in both the 55 and 200 meter hurdles, and the 400 meter relay team of Patience Sims, Ava Pierce, Makenna Anthony, and Sophia Hekkema. Second place finishers were: Clyde Bartee in the 70 meter dash, Caden Huddleston in the 55 meter hurdles, Kendall Coleman in the long jump, Madalyn Simpson in the 100 meter dash, Alyssa Herbert in the 400 meter dash, Makenna Plummer in the 1600 meter run, and Ella Klimza in the high jump. Third place finishers were: Isaac Sanchez in the 400 meter dash, Nate Darling in the 3200 meter run, Parker Sweet in the shot put, Patience Sims in the 70 meter dash, Allison McManus in the 200 meter hurdles, and Madalyn Simpson in both the 200 meter dash and the shot put. Great job and great season Rockets. Remember practice today only for those athletes going to the conference invitational next week.

The girls and guys track teams were in action last night against a strong Mona Shores team. Both teams came up short against the cross town rival. Third place finishers for the Rocket Girls were: Allison Jakobi in shot put, Makenna Plummer in the 3200 meter run, Alyssa Herbert in the 400 meter dash, and Grace Goddell in the 100 meter dash. Second place finishers were: Allison McManus in the 55 meter hurdles, Ella Klimza in the 200 meter hurdles, and Billie Tryska in the high jump. First place finishers were: Grace Goddell in the 70 meter dash, Ella Klimza in the high jump, Ava Klopp in the shot put, and taking first place in all 3 of her events was Sophia Hekkema in the 55 meter hurdles, 200 meter dash, and 400 meter dash. Great job girls! Third place finishers for the Rocket Guys were: Deondray Brown in the 70 meter dash, Jayden Robertson in the 200 meter hurdles, Hayden Turnbow in the 55 meter hurdles, and Aiden Grabinski in the 100 meter dash. Second place finishers were: Isaac Sanchez in the 400 meter dash. First place finishers were: Deondray Brown in the 100 meter dash. Great job guys.

Last Friday at a windy Rocket Stadium, the best of the best track athletes in Muskegon County competed against each other from 10 area schools in the Muskegon Area Middle School City Meet. The Rocket girls finished 5th overall and the Rocket guys finished 6th. The top 6 athletes in each event scored points for their team and earned a ribbon. Here are the top 6 finishers for the Rockets: 6th place finishers were Aiden Grabinski in the 100 meter dash and Grace Goodell in the 100 meter dash. 5th place finishers were Allison McManus in the long jump and Ella Klimza in both the high jump and 200 meter hurdles. 4th place finishers were Deondray Brown in the 70 meter dash, Isaac Sanchez in the 400 meter dash, Grace Goodell in the 70 meter dash, Allison McManus in the 55 meter hurdles, the boys 800 meter relay team of Kamron Coleman, Jezsiah Sims, TJ Davis, and Aiden Grabinski, and the girls 400 meter relay team of Patience Sims, Makenna Anthony, Ava Pierce, and Sophia Hekkema. 3rd place finishers were TJ Davis in the high jump, and the girls 800 meter relay team of Ella Klimza, Billie Tryska, Emily Cook, and Ava Klopp. 2nd place finishers were Deondray Brown in the 100 meter dash, Ava Klopp in the Shot Put, and Sophia Hekkema in the 55 meter hurdles. And your first place finisher and City Champion was Sophia Hekkema in the 200 meter hurdles. Great Job Rockets! Other Rockets earning the opportunity to complete at the City Meet were: Allison Jakobi, Jazmine Dailey, Gabby Seidell, Alaina Bouchard, Makenna Plummer, Heidi Kersting, Paige Anderson, Kamari Walker, Alyssa Herbert, Mirial McNeil, Madalyn Simpson, Erica Herbert, Carsen Harwood, Clyde Bartee, Catcher Earnest, Isaac Bowne, Nate Darling, Jayden Robertson, Tanner Bonjernoor, Parker Sweet, and Kendall Coleman. Congratulations to both the guys and girls track teams for their impressive victories over Fruitport Monday night. There were lots of first, second and third place finishers for both the guys and girls and lots of athletes ran their best times of the season. Great job Rockets!! Come check out the best of the best track athletes in Muskegon County this Friday at RPHS as Reeths-Puffer hosts the middle school city track meet. Go Rockets!
