Last Friday at a windy Rocket Stadium, the best of the best track athletes in Muskegon County competed against each other from 10 area schools in the Muskegon Area Middle School City Meet. The Rocket girls finished 5th overall and the Rocket guys finished 6th. The top 6 athletes in each event scored points for their team and earned a ribbon. Here are the top 6 finishers for the Rockets: 6th place finishers were Aiden Grabinski in the 100 meter dash and Grace Goodell in the 100 meter dash. 5th place finishers were Allison McManus in the long jump and Ella Klimza in both the high jump and 200 meter hurdles. 4th place finishers were Deondray Brown in the 70 meter dash, Isaac Sanchez in the 400 meter dash, Grace Goodell in the 70 meter dash, Allison McManus in the 55 meter hurdles, the boys 800 meter relay team of Kamron Coleman, Jezsiah Sims, TJ Davis, and Aiden Grabinski, and the girls 400 meter relay team of Patience Sims, Makenna Anthony, Ava Pierce, and Sophia Hekkema. 3rd place finishers were TJ Davis in the high jump, and the girls 800 meter relay team of Ella Klimza, Billie Tryska, Emily Cook, and Ava Klopp. 2nd place finishers were Deondray Brown in the 100 meter dash, Ava Klopp in the Shot Put, and Sophia Hekkema in the 55 meter hurdles. And your first place finisher and City Champion was Sophia Hekkema in the 200 meter hurdles. Great Job Rockets! Other Rockets earning the opportunity to complete at the City Meet were: Allison Jakobi, Jazmine Dailey, Gabby Seidell, Alaina Bouchard, Makenna Plummer, Heidi Kersting, Paige Anderson, Kamari Walker, Alyssa Herbert, Mirial McNeil, Madalyn Simpson, Erica Herbert, Carsen Harwood, Clyde Bartee, Catcher Earnest, Isaac Bowne, Nate Darling, Jayden Robertson, Tanner Bonjernoor, Parker Sweet, and Kendall Coleman.
