Rockets Lose: 0 - 0
The 7th grade basketball team closed their season last night at East Kentwood.  After falling behind early, the Rockets managed to build a lead that they would hold for the majority of the game.  Unfortunately, cold shooting late thwarted their efforts to close the already successful season out with one more win.  TJ Davis led all scorers in the game with nineteen points while Jaxson Whitaker gave scoring support with ten. Kameron Coleman did a magnificent job defending Kentwood's best offensive threat while also chipping in seven points and three steals of his own.  Bryce Ross and Caiden Theisen also played extremely well with Ross grabbing seven rebounds and Theisen netting six points. Antrel Jones helped the Rockets with four steals and three points. Brody Johnson and Chase Smith did a nice job on the boards while JT Fansler took three charges by playing defense with his feet...although, only one was called.  Great job and great season Rockets.

Rockets Lose: 0 - 0
Last night the Rockets gave everything they had against an undefeated and unchallenged Big Red team; unfortunately, too many turnovers late in the game allowed their small lead to slip away in the final moments.  TJ Davis led all scorers with 21 points while Bryce Ross and Jaxson Whitaker chipped in twelve and ten respectively. Caiden Theisen, Brody Johnson, Antrel Jones and Kameron Coleman rounded out the scoring for the Rockets.  Jones led the team in steals with three while Davis, Theisen and Whitaker helped slow down the Big Reds with strong play on the boards. When the team was playing as a team, there was little the Big Reds could do to stop them.  Hopefully consistency will be a key in their final contest against East Kentwood on Wednesday.

The 7th grade Rockets just couldn't seem to find the bottom of the bucket last night against the visitors from Mona Shores.  After falling behind early, the Rockets came storming back to eventually take the lead late in the game. Unfortunately, they couldn't hold on while some key misses down the stretch just went in and out.  TJ Davis led all scorers with sixteen while Caiden Theisen chipped in seven of his own. Davis, Theisen and Antrel Jones worked hard on the glass with a combined 22 rebounds. Brody Johnson led the team in steals.  Next week concludes the season with a big game against the Big Reds on Monday and then they hit the road for the finale against East Kentwood on Wednesday.

After a slow and unimpressive start, the 7th grade Rockets turned up the heat on the hosts in Fruitport last night in basketball action.  Ambitious defense and solid offense from Bryce Ross led the Rockets past the Trojans.  Ross had a game high fifteen points along with TJ Davis's fifteen.  Also in double digits was Jaxson Whitaker with twelve.  Chase Smith also had a big night as he netted eight points while Antrel Jones, Kameron Coleman, Caiden Theisen and Brody Johnson all dropped in a few points each.  Defensively, Davis and Smith controlled the glass while JT Fansler and Ross controlled the perimeter with five steals apiece.  The Rockets next game is against rival Mona Shores at home on Wednesday.  Come out and support your team.

The Rocket 7th grade team led the visiting Jenison Wildcats last night from start to finish; however, the very tough and hot-shooting Wildcats kept the game within reach the whole time.  Overall team defense was the key to the Rocket victory with Bryce Ross leading the way with four steals. TJ Davis and Caiden Theisen proved to be too much for the Wildcats on the boards with thirteen and six rebounds respectively.  Jaxson Whitaker and Davis led all scorers with fifteen points apiece while a balanced attack was supported by Ross, JT Fansler, Brody Johnson and Theisen. The team squares off against a conference foe as they travel to Fruitport on Monday.

It was another slow start for the Rockets last night after a long, snowy bus ride to East Kentwood Valleywood.  Luckily, they picked up momentum in the second half and cruised to a victory. Big three-pointers by Kameron Coleman and Jaxson Whitaker ignited a second quarter run.  TJ Davis led all scorers by matching his jersey number with points scored while Caiden Theisen chipped in eight. Also scoring for the Rockets was Brody Johnson, JT Fansler and Antrel Jones.  Johnson and Davis were stingy on the boards while Bryce Ross, Coleman and Chase Smith led the team in steals. The next game for RP Green is this Tuesday at home against a very good West Ottawa team.  Come out and support your Rockets!

Rockets Lose: -
Cold shooting and an early deficit proved too much for the 7th grade Green team last night in basketball action against Muskegon.  8% from the floor in the first half dug a hole that was just a bit too deep to climb out of in the second half despite a valiant effort.  Six Rockets got into the scoring column with TJ Davis leading the way. Defensively, they recovered from slow feet to limit the Big Reds to only thirteen second half points in a nice team performance.  They will be looking to put together a complete game tomorrow as they head to East Kentwood.

The 7th grade basketball team was on the road again last night as they traveled to face a very tough group from Hamilton.  The Rockets led the Hawkeyes from start to finish but had to stave off a 4th quarter surge to protect the win. Jaxson Whitaker hit two big free-throws to secure the victory.  RP dominated the boards which made a huge difference in the outcome. TJ Davis had 15 alone and was backed up by Antrel Jones and Brody Johnson. Kameron Coleman did an outstanding job defending Hamilton's best player.  Getting into the scoring column for the Rockets was Davis with 15 and Whitaker with 13 followed by Bryce Ross, Jones, Caiden Theisen, Johnson and Chase Smith. Come support your 7th graders as they play their first home game tomorrow against Grand Haven.

The seventh grade "A" team opened their season last night by traveling to rival Mona Shores and taking on a very good Sailor squad.  They escaped with a victory due to a strong team effort and consistent play. Leading the way offensively for the Rockets was Jaxson Whitaker and TJ Davis.  Providing offensive support was the trio of Caiden Theisen, Antrel Jones and Brody Johnson. While playing excellent team defense, Bryce Ross led the charge with two steals.  The group travels again on Tuesday to face the Hamilton Hawkeyes.
